A young couple, Melanie and Jake, try to escape their problems by retreating to a secluded lake house.  When Melanie finds an old diary while exploring the house, she finds out the place has a history which parallels her own.  Will they be able to come together as a couple, or will their dysfunctional tendencies spiral out of control?
